The app in general is well designed, and nicely laid out so everything is visible and it's easy to see tags, and what is playable. However there are a few issues. There are some circumstances where you draw cards and the card row comes out. This appears in front of everything and can't be removed, which means there's no way of checking the game state. Secondly, it never clearly explains the attack cards (e.g. constrict). If you get hit by this there is seemingly no way of seeing its effect.

The phone layout is frustrating to play with. the other player action cards don't change to pink when upgraded(happens on tablet). Most the screen gets blocked when discarding after the card draw action, this makes it hard to decide which of your new cards are worth keeping since I can't evaluate what my board looks like, and which conservation projects are still available.

Great adaptation of the physical game - lots of online & offline play options including solo mode, vs AI mode and pass & play mode, with regular challenges as well. I thought it would be a bit fiddly on a small screen (I'm on a fairly small tablet), but its been done really well and is very easy to use. Hope they bring out the Marine Worlds expansion soon as well.

Amazing adaptation of this great board game. I especially appreciate the options of playing with friends online and in person, as well as the ongoing special exhibit challenges. I have probably played a hundred games and only experienced very few minor issues that were easily resolved (or turned out to not be issues, but me simply missing a requirement).

Incredibly laggy on Windows PC, where other games work perfectly fine, to the point that it's a nightmare to play. I also experienced the errors many described (e.g., opponents' upgraded cards still showing in blue, not being able to place an animal in an empty enclosure previously occupied by a released animal, etc.).

This game should not have been released in its current condition. There are numerous bugs. The one I have seen consistently is that the don't give discounts on animals from their contenent. They also don't seem to get counted for the habitat diversity conservation project. Just now I had a 1 size animal in my hand and an open size 3 enclosure and it wouldn't let me play my animals action card -- again I suspect because the animal in question needed a continent to be present and I had a zoo.

Granted this is my absolute favorite board game, but that could have predisposed me to loving this app or hating the changes required for making it playable online. They did a FABULOUS job and I LOVE it!!! It's true to the board game, allows for playing against bots, pass and play, and even asynchronous where the opponent plays on their platform on their schedule and you're notified when it's your turn. The cards are the same as the physical game so it's an easy transition.

Amazing game, I love it so much. Especially, games with AI can be so efficient for 20 minutes - 30 minutes a game instead of 3 hours in real life. Still, I need to say the AI is terrible at playing this game, I usually won at double its score 😂.

For gameplay related critiques I'd, recommend checking out reviews of the actual board game. As for the port, it seems to be well made. The tutorial covers the most important aspects of the game (there's also an in game rulebook) and the Ai opponents seem fairly competent. My only criticism would be the presence of some UI related bugs. Nothing game breaking, but it does take away some of the games polish. If the play store let me, I'd give it a 4.5/5, but since it doesn't, 4 it is

It's a convenient way to play the game, however, there isn't enough challenges (let alone being remotely even challenging at all). The Special Exhibit single player is trash, as it uses Solo rules. No one likes the solo shortened game. The challenges would be good if there were twice as much and they got harder and harder. Multiplayer just takes too long to bother about. I have similar complaints with the Dune game from these guys. Add way more challenges please!

This works so well on mobile and on tablet. The interface is smooth, but the tutorial is awful. No really. I went into the digital game having played the board game, once, and I mostly struggled with the interface. My human partner almost rage quit twice because the tutorial taught her nothing. And I did the tutorial too and yeah, it's bad. we play often now. You can mix AI with human players too in MP. It's great fun. YouTube a play through on the board game to get the nuisance of the cards.
