I am MESMERIZED with this game and I'd play it 24 7... if I could. Unfortunately it seems like the player base is disappearing. I have 40 – 50 games started at all times, but only get activity in like 5 a day (unless i restart missions with the same people i just played with). VIP missions take days to load. Makes me a lil sad

A $5 mobile game should not be this good. I knew my dad was into it, and I had played the boardgame, so I decided to give it a try. The cutscenes are awesome, and the references to pop culture always make me crack up. Definitely the best mobile game I have seen in a long time.

Players vote on potential clues and allow many foreign words in popularity contests that legalize cheating by another name--you pay to be cheated. It's not coordinated or in bad faith. Players voting on words are too unskeptical and allow the most obscure names and foreign words into the game. Cheaters use them to link otherwise unlinkable cards. And "rhymes" is used as a clue and Jey has been introduced by someone who flooded the voting page so you couldn't scroll down to reject the word.

Long time Codenames player here (board game, website, app). I think the devs did a terrific job! I like the UI, game modes, maintenance. There's only one thing that bothers me - the daily challenges, mainly the cases, currently feel like a chore. There are too many (even with the robot help) & I wish I could turn it on/off. If insisting on dailies - at least let me know the time of daily reset. my 90 days achievement was ruined (after over 70 days!) because of this. It's way too punishing.

There are too many words in the algorithm losing the beautifully curated appeal of the boardgame. 9 times out of 10 I am staring at a board with no logical connections (and I wasn't bad at the physical game)

The interface to play with friends is not really intuitive, the graphics are very distracting. And the worst is that the option to play codenames duet is not available. I requested a refund but this was not approved. However, my partner who installed exactly at the same time (both with google play, same country etc) got his refund.

It is a fun game, but I paid for it and often can't find a game to play because nothing is available. On top of it, it sometimes won't load causing me to time out on missions. Definitely making me much less interested in playing. Update: reducing my rating to 2, server is down nearly daily now when I try to play. I regret that I spent money on this.

Game is sweet, interface is nice and easy to follow. But the continuous glitches and booting makes it annoying. Connection with internet isn't an issue, everything else runs smoothly. But trough out the day it keeps booting at the most random times and pretty much stops working.

I love everything about it except that lately when I click on games they just won't load. I don't know if it's because I have too many going at once or what, but it doesn't make sense to me because it doesn't have complicated graphics or anything that should make it so slow.

I think the game lacks the most important feature of them all: to begin a quick game with random people online - just let the sever match you with 3 other players in the waiting room, like any other multiplayer online game... Besides this it is clean and work just as expected.

I love this app. I have the board game too, but this is already set up for you and there's a lot more options. You have daily challenges on the website, challenges made by other players, and you can even make your own challenges out of the main competition game that other people play. I love this game because it can challenge your brain and help you learn new words in the process.
