- If you pick me If has to be forever · v1.1.6
Nice port of the DS version. Great story, characters, music, and game.
- Bufo · v1.1.6
My first Dragon Quest game and wow, this was absolute peak. Amazing story, lovable characters, and I honestly thought I’d end up putting it away halfway through, but instead I finished it and even replayed it just to see all three marriage choices.

I played the Nintendo DS version of this game on my PC using an emulator. I've bought this game on Android purely to show support towards the devs for creating this masterpiece of a game. The story is fabulous, it has a whimsical fairy-tale esque vibe with great characters and some very emotional heart-wrenching plot twists. The gameplay is your standard JRPG fare executed really well with a twist: you can recruit monsters as playable party members. If you enjoy JRPG's, this is a must-buy.
- Velvet Crowe · v1.1.6
Love this game! I never played this one before on the original console. It's really engaging and easy to spend time on for sure only complaint, the on screen d-pad. There are times I don't really want to move diagonally and it's easy to go an unintended direction
- Ryan Sweeney · v1.1.6
I love the game kinda see why its consider the best in the series
- Adam Valdez
Best mobile Game, DQV is an underrated masterpiece. this version is a port of the ds remake to the snes version so it has all of the improvements that a remake should have. The remake added a party chat that has comments from party members on stuff related to story events and dialogues with npcs, this adds more personality and lore (like your companions reflection on past events that happened long ago in game) to the already amazing story with amazing moments, great characters, and soundtrack.
- Yoav Zehavy · v1.1.6
Localization is really bad. Original language not included.
- Aaron Chen · v1.1.3
controls don't work on my device and the developer has set the refund policy to no refunds. as a long time dragon quest enjoyer this is a massive disappointment. only buy it if your desperate to stare at pixels with a control set that's impossible to use.
- Wise Man · v1.1.6
The 2nd Trilogy in the series (4,5 & 6) is my personal favorite and this is the best of those 3 games.
- Rant Casey · v1.1.6
An excellent port of a superb game.
- Paweł Iwaniec · v1.1.6
Fun Factor: 7.5 Overall Score: 77% Letter Rating: A While this game has some flaws that me me consider it a slight step back from its predecessor, Dragon Quest V deserves its reputation as a phenomenal RPG and one of the most popular entries in the series. I'd recommend this game to any classic RPG enthusiasts or fans of monster-catching games who can get past the unwarranted grindiness of this game's monster-catching until they can gamble enough to get 20,000 casino tokens.🤣🤣
- Brighton Nelson · v1.1.5
AI is the wrong choice.
- Joshua Riley · v1.1.5
whoever wrote the english lines for the bad guy right before we get kidnapped and enslaved needs to go back to school and relearn english altogether
- No Hardcore · v1.1.6
fantastic port of an excellent game, i had a lot of fun with this one. the game is huge so it's also a good value
- Jesse Couenhoven · v1.1.5
I found the story lacking, though it is an early gen game. For a modern day remake, the item systems are just too horrendous for me to like, so much needless manual work. Boss battles aren't too fun to deal with. I did more than a fair amount of grinding away enemies, it seemed like a luck of the draw situation for damage or effects. Too difficult for children in my opinion. With the right tweaks it could be much better.
- Steven S. · v1.1.2
Great port from DS Version. The best story of the DQ series. The most important in this port is that the game has orchestral version. Listen to the OST is worth the price and so satisfying with a good headphone on. Highly recommend.
- Vasin Tayanuwat · v1.1.5
Should be 5* if it wasn't for the clunky control and the inability to save anytime (this is unacceptable for a 30y old game with such difficulty level)
- Elvis Tran · v1.1.5
LET ME MUTE THE MUSIC TO 0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😢😡
- Raymundo VN · v1.1.5
Amazing. It's possibly the greatest fictional story ever told in gaming. The gameplay is well-paced, the art style and music are legendary, and it turns familiar tropes on their heads to make them feel fresh. I can see myself replaying this one again and again and again.
- OmegaChase1002 · v1.1.4
annoying but cope able controls. and one of the more difficult in the series but persevere and you'r rewarded with one of the coolest adventures in the coolest worlds ever. pure escapism on your device ❤️ it x
- Benny Gray · v1.1.5
Good game. Desperately needs an option to mute sounds.
- Randy Cragun · v1.1.5
so amazing to play this again but the joystick is sloppy in a game that requires precision movement. get ready to fall alot.
- C F · v1.1.5
Game was stellar, until I encountered a game breaking glitch. Im in the Ghost Towers, and found the torch in the jar in the basement. But when I go to the top floor to battle the ghost, there is no torch in my inventory. Cannot proceed with story now :(
- Katherine Larsen · v1.1.4
wonderful!!!
- Riza Rivera · v1.1.4
Great game but better on DS still worth the price.
- Benjamin Stevenson · v1.1.4
u should put pics of the actual fighting.
- AI Translator · v1.1.4
After over 10 hours on the red slot machine, I came to realize just how ridiculous the dragon quest series is. It may just be this port, but one would assume that even randomized, one would hit at least the ×1000 once. Nope. I never even hit a ×200 once. Never mind the fact that I never hit a 777 once. After wasting so many hours on the slots and still not having enough to buy a Whip + sword + monster magnet, this will be the last squareenix game I will ever pay for.
- J M (Mune) · v1.1.4
Great game, love it like all the other DQ games I've been playing!
- Stabby Demon · v1.1.4
Just bring this game to consoles already I hate playing games on mobile the controls suck because my fingers hit stuff I don't want to hit and in a rpg with random encounters you don't want that come on at least put it on steam
- Ryan Craig
Great classic jrpg. -1 star because the sound can't be turned of and therefore I'm unable to listen to podcasts while playing.
- Hannes Schmidt · v1.1.4
The progenitor of monster taming games
- W Spinder · v1.1.4
Well made, great storyline, nice to grind for hours, and graphics are excellent.
- Richard Ming · v1.1.4
Just finished it, 65 hours. Top tier story, gameplay and music, but if you are like me, you are here for Master Toriyama's chraracters, his heroes and monsters and landscapes. Well, you wont be disapointed. Dragon Quest is medieval DBZ. This is the perhaps the best of the classic DQs but you may want to try I or III or IV first, but that's up to you. Cheers!
- Andres b · v1.1.4
Great game, but horrible saving. I lost all my save data in the clout after I got a new phone.
- Phillip Coleman · v1.1.1
Don't like the controls
- Max · v1.1.4
More character development than the previous title. The description is accurate when it comes to viewing the adventure from the perspective of three subsequent generations. Spoiler: an interesting twist occurs in the third generation. Also, we have a villain who holds a seemingly lifelong grudge against the protagonist (you). The feud with the antagonist feels like a blood feud between the game and the player.
- Al Logan · v1.1.4
Don't buy this game. Has fake rooms and fake bosses. HUGE waist of money
- Andy Smith · v1.1.4
Very nice!
- Bruno Silva
Beautiful and well polished. I remember trying this on DS over a decade ago but couldn't get past Uptaten Towers. I did on this port and seeing Pankraz's fate and getting a new lease on life 10 years later nearly made me cry, and I don't cry from video games easy. Dragon Quest is Toriyama's legacy, and I'm happy to enjoy it. It's a bit grindy, but the story and nearly unlimited party builds more than make up for it. Well worth the steep price. Thank you for bringing this gem to mobile.
- Phoenix Donaldson · v1.1.4
There is a problem where it stutters, losing frames that makes go slower. It is not smooth.
- ExtrAordinary · v1.1.1
The interface looks like a very cheap game, during the battle the command box cover all the monster so we cannot see them !! They could have monster on the top half and command box on below half but they did not do that. Touch screen navigation is very hard to control. I wanted to request a refund for this game, but they do not have that option for me to request a refund 😢
- Jackson&Krody · v1.1.3
Amazing port to a classic Super Famicom tale. We never got DRAGON QUEST V in the West originally, however this upscaled port of the DS remake is absolutely the definitive way to play this title. The controls are great and easy to learn, a really fun and engaging story with many twists and turns, pretty decent difficulty, colorful characters and sharp strategic gameplay. This is one of the stronger Dragon Quest titles and if you are looking for a start, this one is most definitely worth a try. :)
- Jude Ford (Zappy) · v1.1.3
From my perspective, this is the best dragon quest release to date. For its content, soundtrack, mechanics, among other aspects. Hopefully someday this game reaches more platforms. This is still a good version of the game, just because it is on mobile does not degrade its quality.
- William King · v1.1.3
Good game, I really liked this one, but haven't been able to beat it.
- Justin Yippy (Thebaconeater)
Story wise DQ 5 is definitely top 3
- Aliyah James · v1.1.3
