Unusual Glitch game w fatal flaw on iOS

The other Glitch games are really clever and absorbing, so I gave this spin off a try. It’s a slightly different style of play, which was ok, and a very different art style, but the font made the dialogue hard to read (even at a larger size) and, worst of all, I ran into a bug on iOS that made it impossible to complete a task and move forward in the game. (I collected all the candles, including two bundles in one trip, but when I delivered them, only one bundle registered. Now all the candles are gone but, uh, the shopkeeper doesn’t believe me.) At any rate, an interesting detour from their normal fare, but I’ll stick with the cool spooky deserted locations mysteries.

this one is my favorite of the glitch games. Completely ridiculous in the best way

I love point and clicks, especially if they embrace the absurdism and comedy of the classics, and this is a great example of the genre. The puzzles are challenging enough to be engaging while still remaining logical. The progressive hint system is very well implemented to give you just enough without spoiling the fun (excellent accessibility feature!). I adore the integrated camera, which saves you from having to keep notes manually. Super well written (and actually copy edited, which is also good for accessibility!), solid voice acting, good score, unique art style, groan-inducing puns. All the highlights of the best point and click adventures! Glitch is always good, but this is my personal favorite by far.

The most ridiculous art possible, which made me worry that it would be an amateur game... it was actually pretty fun and entertaining, with decent puzzles and free in-game hints. You do have to pay 99 cents for the full game, but I think a few hours of entertainment is worth 99 cents 😅

Loved this! Clever and silly as point and click adventures should always be. The puzzles were just the right amount of tricky. I got so wrapped up in this game that I ended up buying the rest of it. Was a pretty lengthy demo too! The hints were available within the game for free which was impressive. In fact I don't remember seeing or being forced to view not even one ad. My only gripe is that I wish it were longer. I beat it in a few hrs. Great job! Can't wait for more like this!

Really fun, good puzzles, smart hint system

Really not much more to say. Solid PnC puzzler. I wish there were more to the game because it’s my speed but there was plenty of gameplay for the cost. Some puzzles were really easy, some a little more obscure. Loved the artwork and all 80s references.

I have played every point and click escape adventure game I can find on the iOS App Store. Glitch is the absolute best. Clues make 100% sense, always logical if you take your time and think about them. I highly recommend Simon and Graham’s newsletter. I always love hearing about what they have coming next!

This is the best game ever, I am enjoying the experience, the music is sick, the mules are sick. The only tiny criticism is that all the men in it are too ruggedly handsome, as if so many men could be so ruggedly handsome, all in the same place. Especially those two men in the painting, come on. Anyway yes I highly recommend this product, it has definitely made my hair a lot smoother and shinier I will recommend it to all my cats. Edit, it's got even better so I'm going to buy the full version.

spoilers possibly- i have been a huge fan of glitch games for years now and have bought the whole forever lost series as well as incoherence, great escapes, and now Ferris Mueller's day off. i love seeing forever lost references in your other games and i love the puzzles. anyways about this game, there were a lot of useless items that should not have been pick-up-able because it made my inventory huge and confusing. also i had a few problems with dialogue where i’d click on the person but they didn’t say anything. but overall it was a fun short game :) please make more games that have something to do with forever lost bc i love it ❤️

Nice puzzle adventure

Although the art style is a bit primitive, this is a pretty good puzzle adventure. Solving puzzles include some punny wordplay and some lateral thinking but most are not too hard. A built-in hint system helps for the few bizarre puzzles. It took a total of about 8 hours to complete. I enjoyed my play through.

Cute game with some nice references to 80s movies and other glitch games. Unfortunately, they live up to their name with quite a few "glitches". Often completing quests with people just ends up with new items in your inventory without notification. Didn't need duster to complete that quest (should have needed it along with other item..but I did need clue with duster). WHISKEY riddle was a bit too far out there in terms of how it was presented as well as Wagon.

It was ok. Actually not what I expected from the reviews and after playing the Forever Lost trilogy, which was terrific. This one is a lot about riddles. If it was a crossword, it would be a cryptic one, and that felt annoying. I paid extra for what, I'm not sure. And I also needed a walkthrough at points, and the hints weren't terribly helpful. A hint is useful when you're stuck, just to get you going again. These ones were all or nothing.

I found this funny and ingenious. It took me a moment to adjust to to the cartoon style artwork, but it does add to the experience. The puzzles were lots of fun, and I enjoyed the cultural references, particularly those to classic British comedy. Great value for money.

Well this game was freaking fantastic! The pop culture references were all very amusing and the game was challenging enough to be fun, but I was able to figure out 99% without peaking at the internet (then felt silly for the thing I did peak on). Very entertaining!

This game was so much fun! I very highly recommend it, and I also recommend paying the $1.99 they ask for half way through the game. Definitely worth it, in my opinion. I don’t know the last time I enjoyed a game this much! Fun story, easy enough but made me have to stop sometimes and think things through. fun little game marred by design issues

spoilers ahead- while i had a nice time doing the early puzzles, i spent far too long totally stuck in the “free” section without realizing i needed to buy the rest of the game to complete the puzzles I had started; there’s absolutely no progress indicator or warning that you’ve made as much progress as you can in the free area. most of the puzzles were doable on my own, but the last couple were pretty counterintuitively designed. i’ll admit the puns as puzzles were clever even though i didn’t get them without hints, but the heist map and the bear suit uses made absolutely no sense. the low rating is for the unplayable ending. i was able to get the red safe key from the manager before finding the leather duster, but now can’t actually use the key to open the safe because my character is demanding i speak to the manager... to get the key. there must be some sort of bug or flawed design here resulting in a catch-22. very frustrating that because i apparently did something out of order without realizing, i can’t reach the ending despite having paid $1.99 to unlock it.

Just for funsies

If, like me, you loved the Forever Lost games, this is a fun one but don’t expect the same level of seriousness here. Definitely more inside jokes and puns happening and I ended up using hints because it’s a different vibe altogether and you have to be in a different mindset. Think silliness. Loved all the 80s movies references.

Loved it!

I love all of the 80’s movie references. Those are the movies I grew up on. The game was great, as usual, as ALL games made by Glitch Games are fantastic. The puzzles were good, the artwork was different, but I loved it. And of course, the gameplay was excellent. Much love to Graham, the developer, I sat back in the shadows while beta testing Veritas but I see that you are such a great developer and a hard worker. This was the only game I hadn’t played yet so I got it today, finished in a few hours, and did it in one sitting. I’m a big fan of Glitch Games and I’m just waiting for the next pack to be released in Great Escapes. That’s another fun one. If you are wondering if you should get this game, YES, and while you’re at it, get ALL the Glitch games, they are all one of a kind FUN and worth every penny.

By Far My Favorite!

Like another reviewer, I was initially put off by the cartoon style but do glad I gave it a chance. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Love the fact that you guys use your formula in different genres. It's great to have some lighthearted funny games, that still have your very clever puzzles.

Great game but buggy

I love this game and all of the games this developer makes. That being said this game has a very irritating bug that does not allow you to close the photo album. I find the only way to get out of it is to restart the application. Fix that and it’s worth it.

While not the first game I played by glitch, it is the game that made me realize what I was “up against,” and placed the developers at the top of my list. The puzzles push. You have to focus and think about what the next goal is, and while is can be frustrating, those that appreciate challenges will not balk at the idea. The puns and puzzles are awesome, giving one an idea of the minds behind the creation. It is a solid use of time!

Not as good to me as the others

Got bored with it about 2/3 thru. The inventory is gigantic with several useless items. Some of the puzzles made literally no sense, and eventually I resorted to hints out of boredom. Rarely needed hints before, so I'm glad this game provided them because I didn't feel as compelled to brainstorm like in other titles. I would rate this as my least favorite of the Glitch games, and seems overall not as well though-out as the others. Still good, though. I am a gen x-er and the puns were fun. Had to turn the sound up at the end because I nearly expected to hear Simple Minds playing in the background.

Funny dialog and lots of nostalgia

Good fun puzzles (some puns taken literally to solve), free hint system, convenient camera, whole story is weird idea that is somehow funny, lots of allusions to other stuff, good ending, but awful cartoon graphics and music. Annoying to go back and forth so much. That being said, I did feel compelled to finish the whole thing in 1 day. It's good but I just didn't like it as much as some of their other work.

Very impressed! At first it took me a little while to get used to the cartoon layout. I really didn't think I was going to be able to get into it. ..then I thought about all the games I have played by Glitch and I knew if I gave it a chance I would see all the clever riddles and puzzles that you guys put so much thought into like a lot of games with similar genre that uses the same old boring tactics that are either so easy and obvious they insult your intelligence, or so unsolvable and make no sense on purpose so they can make money off you buying excessive hints just to get through the game. You guys really seem to care about your customers and their ability to truly enjoy your games for a good price as well. Although Forever Lost series by far my favorite buy you guys, this one was a pleasant change from the scary stuff and the throwback 80's humor was cool. That piano had me cracking up!!😂 🎹Next, I will be playing A Short Tale. Looking at the reviews, I think I will be enjoying another few hours of another Glitch Games adventure!!

So much fun and LOL hilarious

I love all of Glitch games, but it took me a while to warm up to this one. At the beginning, I was thinking I'd give it 3 or 4 stars. I was overwhelmed with so many things to do in the game, and couldn't make sense of it all at first. But I am SO glad I persevered. This is a hilarious game, but still has all the deviously clever puzzles that Glitch Games is known for. Btw, it played flawlessly. Thank you, Glitch Games. Please keep them coming!

Really fun plus great support

I love all the Glitch Games. Fun, challenging and inventive. But the most impressive thing for me is when I got stuck at almost the end of the game (a stupid error on my part that I won't go into), I emailed Glitch and got a polite and helpful email the next day! These guys really care.

Glitch in Glitch's game

Glitch games is really an appropriate name considering the problems with this game. The game locks up in the hints section and has to be restarted every time. Apparently locking up has been a problem for a while according to the ratings.Then again, maybe it's supposed to have a glitch. Anyway, I'm deleting it.... Update: As of 1-21-16 Glitch has done NOTHING to correct the GLITCH in this game. We must presume they don't care! Update, update: now they are coming out with a new game yet they haven't fixed this one yet!

I loved the lost series by glitch games and was excited to play this game. Unfortunately, the game constantly froze and I had to restart it all the time. I ended up deleting the game before finishing because I was so annoyed.

I REALLY want to rate this 5 stars, but...

This game has I retesting and hard puzzles, and is absolutely hilarious. I love all of the cultural references, from breaking bad to '80s movies to many other adventure games. BUT it has a major glitch. I played a few hours last night and got probably 1/4 the way through. I go to play today, though, and it keeps taking me back to the first scene. I can see where my old game was saved, but I can only write over it, like I did accidentally with my more recent save. It makes no sense! I want to play this game but I'll never be able to do it in one sitting! Waiting anxiously for a software update!

Rare excellency

Adventure games are always a mixed bundle. Many of them are obtuse and all but unsolvable. Others are simplistic and linear, just collecting items in order so that you can collect the next item. Those that can create difficult but logical puzzles and nest them in a "web" of puzzle solutions become the rare classics. Mueller does both of these very well. I'll confess, I checked the hints a handful of times but I wish I hadn't. Every time I groaned, but I knew I could have figured it out with more patience. Now that the developers have my faith, I'll stick through it to the end when I play their other games. Download and enjoy!

Fun but has issues

Fun game but I am towards the end and when I try to use an object to do something it doesn't work. ( the teddy bear and also the flower powder.)I can't get anywhere.. I looked up the hints and I am doing the right thing but nothing happens. Wonder if it's related to the iOS version I have. Just ok

Game was cute, but where it fails for me is the puzzles. 70% of the puzzles were completely illogical and just word puns or random guesses. I like being able to figure things out and piece it together, but this game had almost zero clues of what to do next and the answers were always stuff u'd never think of, not cuz it's hard, but because it's completely random with no logical flow.

Excellent Yet Again

If you are a fan of the Forever Lost series, then you know what to expect! It is about the same length as FL1, so definitely shorter than FL2. But at only $1.99 for the HD version and couple of hours of fun, it is worth the price. The game loosely references Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but you do not need to have seen the movie to follow. As usual, many other references throughout the game. Puns are still an amusing touch. Well worth the money and a great way to get your Glitch Games fix while we await Forever Lost 3!
