Unplayable fix the back button

One of my favorite games! But it's been out for a while and they still haven't fixed the controller issue. on Backbone and PS5 controllers, the B (or circle) button causes the game to minimize. I assume this happens with every kind of controller, and it needs fixing. the last review to comment on this was 8 months ago.

I have an issue with the game whenever a controller is connected on my device. Whenever i press Circle(PS) B(XBOX) the game quits me out to my phone's home menu. This might be an android 16 issue and the game hasn't been updated to fix it.

This is a purely subjective take. I dunno if it's because I'm burned out on difficult games, or there's something boring about this games difficulty in particular. But I just don't find it fun. I think it's due to the combat sections mainly consisting of enemy waves almost all the time. Gets tedious really quick. But I can definitely see others living this.

Loving the game so far, but would love to use my pro controller or Nintendo joy cons. The A button closes the app, and the other buttons aren't mapped the same as in the game picture. If we were able to change the button mappings in the app, that could help.

Perhaps I'm am 10 years late delving into the fandom. I recently finished the game and it was captivating. It has more to look at and offer, I still haven't covered all of the secrets, outfits or the weapons yet. What's more touching is that this is inspired on the game creator's heart disease. I can't thank you enough for that it has been such a beautiful journey despite it's in a matter of bits and blocks and music.

the game is phenomenal, but basically unplayable with the B button on controllers exiting the game. fix that one issue and it's an easy 5 star. Will update review if they fix the problem, otherwise, unless you plan on playing touch screen, which isn't great if you prefer controller, save your money or buy it on console or PC.

this game is a hidden gem, the pixel art is amazing to look at. the combat is punishing but addictive, and requires your full attention to what is going on. hyper light drifter specializes in show don't tell, it almost never tells you what's going on, leaving you to make connections and context cluse. the game likes to hide things from wether that be a heal or a upgrade you have to explore to find something. be careful when loading out of the game for it may reset sometimes when you leave.

I'm very close to finishing this game and I do want to say detach controls are great and the overall experience of the game is wonderful I have almost no complaints though I will say this for some people the wordless story plus the punishing difficulty could be a problem but for me I love souls likes and personally I would highly recommend this to anybody who has the money recommend. every section of this game has beautiful detail that's what I love.

First of all, I love the game. But I find the fact that the button mapping is wrong when using my Ps5 controller annoying at least, I can't play the game with my Dualsense at all! Dashing instantly closes the game and the L2 and R2 buttons are useless cause they are mapped wrong. Please, fix it!

the gameplay is fun. the art is great. the storytelling is really well done, with how the world tells you everything. the touch controls are a little bit iffy sometimes they could use some refining.

one of the best games ever made, let down by controls that make it unplayable, the circle/B button of the controller exits the entire game instead of the in game menu. plus that button is mapped to swap weapon, developers dont seem to be able to fix it. what a shame.

A+ game, got this on through the Kickstarter for pc probably about 10 years ago. An indie classic that I always find myself coming back to. Excellent gameplay art and soundtrack. Glad to see it on mobile and now has native controller support. Hands down one of the best games I've ever played.

It's a very enjoyable game. But the controller support really pisses me off. Everytime I press B the controller exits the game and I can't even rebind the button to something else. Regardless, it's still a very good game and the touch controls are pretty good. Just if they fix this it would be even better.

Bad controller support, the 'B' button exits the game which makes it unplayable. According to a reddit post on this issue, it's caused by a bug where the game needs to override the OS's back action via the controller, where 'B' is also used to exit/move back in menu's. Once pushed, android treats the button action at the OS level, instead of as purely game input. The devs really need to patch this out as it's a relatively simple fix that has been around for a long time. Email Abylight to fix it!

I REALLY want to like and play this but I should have read the reviews on here before buying: playing with a controller attached to my S25 Ultra and any time I press "B" to back out of the pause screen, game just exits and goes to my phones Home screen. Looked at the button layout and seems ill have to use "B" to switch weapons, so that means I can't even play this on a controller because any time I press B, the game exits. 🤦🏻‍♂️ If this gets fixed and I can change my rating, I will.

this game looks absolutely awesome and I am sure with working controls it would be awesome. but the game doesn't support the O key on PS5 controllers which makes it unplayable since you cannot dodge without exiting the game. please fix this and I'll turn the review to 5, but without this functionality the game is just unplayable

Controller Support Not There - Unplayable - Very Unhappy I have the Galaxy Z Fold 7 I have now tried two very popular controllers. - Backbone One - Gamesir X5s both controllers, when connected with either plug-in or Bluetooth, will still register the B or O button as back. when I press B, it goes back to the home screen, making it completely unplayable and a complete waste of money. I've googled everywhere, used AI to figure it out, there is no solution aside from rooting my phone.

Edit: When the B button is pressed for a longer time than a tap, it works and does not close the app. Finally the Backbone controller support is nearly there. Everything else works, but the B button throws me out of the game. Been waiting to play this game on the go and I hope they can fix the issue, since the game is exceptional.
