So my only two beefs with this app that really annoying me. Is one trading could be better. I feel as though i should be able to trade for any kind of cards. Its annoying you can't trade the action cards. Me and my wife wanna trade between us and we can't. Second is the AI battles, you can do them for hour glasses for packs. And the advanced step up etc. The AI is crazy OP at times. The luck that's " randomly " generated for them is awful. Also always get perfect coin flips etc.

Getting cards and building binders and displays are the most fun part of this app. The only HUGE problem I have with this, app and Pokemon games in general at this point are the EVENTS!!!!!!!! Everything being so event exclusive is super annoying especially when you want cosmetics related to your FAVORITE POKEMON and you can’t even have it because you missed ONE SHORT EVENT FROM OVER A YEAR AGO. If you are even going to do events make them rotate faster it’s obnoxious the amount of event exclusive stuff here. And another thing is all the promo cards and tcgp EXCLUSIVE cards are a terrible thing, why have an entire card dedicated to only one event that’s barely going to last a few weeks???? It’s only a lazy way to generate hype so if new cards are made they should always be physical too and not app exclusive.

The Computer opponent always starts with a good hand and it’s coin flips have been studied extensively and have found they work >50% of the time. The same game mode also gives extra screens to play against to keep the player in the game longer to manipulate app usage time for the App Store. The pull rates on 3-4 diamond cards are way too low and should reduce 1-2 diamond cards rates to adjust. The new cards are Pokemon they copied from old Pokemon.

terrible game. its actually a video game, and not a card game. rng stacks against you like a video game, opposed to being random like a proper card game. you can predict coin flips. if you play against a computer, you have 3 levels of the computer not knowing how to play the game, then 1 level of the computer getting the exact card it needs every time to win. terrible experience. all its good for is collecting alternate art cards. pretty pathetic for a card 'game'. wouldn't recommend to anyone.

3/4th of the game is redundant animations. It takes up wayyyy too much time. They have the ability to allow skipping of animations, like when you buy flairs for cards, but refuse to use it anywhere else. The addition of cards that require 2-3 coin flips a turn has turned this from a 3-5 minute per match to 10-15 minutes. I haven’t spent a cent on the game since. CHILL with the animations!!!

They need to remove the artificial aspect of difficulty that the expert mode has in solo battles, in which the AI is just very lucky and the player is very unlucky. It is not difficult, just plainly rigged and luck based.

I’ve played this abomination for 6 months and was stripped away from my freedom, joy and peace. Slaving away for days only getting paid back with a finger in my butt drilling away. Colorless Energy

Idk if anyone has discovered yet but recently colorless energy is is being more and more showcased but it’s being treated in this game as a standalone energy type. I was under the impression that colorless energy could substitute for any energy and viscera otherwise normal type pokemon would require there own normal energy type cards to power them. I used a Kubfu pokemon with to the move “training” which adds a colorless energy to him.. but when I evolved it into the water urshifu with a dark ,water, and normal energy. I didn’t have a water energy after an another play and couldn’t attack. I understand the effect doesn’t go off but I met the requirements to attack. Normal energies should should be able to stand in for any energy otherwise delcatty, kubfu, and sable eye are useless

Good game, not P2W, but PvE cheats

Honestly it’s hard not to enjoy this game in almost every way. It’s not microtransactioned into the ground, the pack opening is satisfying, PvE is fun even though it isn’t always my speed, and the new content drop rate is great. The ONLY issue I have is high rank PvE cheats blatantly. In the PvE Expert difficulty you WILL have solid decks that worked consistently elsewhere suddenly fail in the most spectacular ways repeatedly back to back matches. Your opening hand WILL be the most disadvantageous. The bot WILL ALWAYS have just the card it needs to ruin your turn, you WILL lose every coin toss, and the bot will NEVER lose a coin toss. It’s clear rather than let a challenging deck be the difficulty the developer opted for the easier route of letting the bot cheat. This isn’t unheard of in gaming (looking at Civ franchise) but it’s disappointing in a deck building game. If you’re like me and enjoy collecting the cards but not keeping up with PvP metas just steer clear of Expert difficulty, it makes you want to walk away from an otherwise solid game.

there is not a low enough rating to give this app it disguises its coin flip as chance it is not chance I would like to also say that it's completely wrong to be paired against a Level 60 player when you are in the beginner bracket on casual games. I would also like to warn players they implement both players to make their servers seem more populated. These bot players will ensure you lose the game mechanics shift in favor of the bot ensuring lose it doesn't matter what you use.

I have been playing since the January after launch. The game feels much less generous with resources, and the pull rates feel like they have been turned WAY down. I mean like multiple consecutive 10 pulls and not even a 1 star drop bad. MTG Arena is way more stingy with card packs, but it feels vastly easier to build decks with their system. I had a blast with it initially. It was fun to try and collect every Pokémon in a pack and the battle system can be surprisingly engaging and rewards creative thinking when making decks. What earned it a 2 star was the recent drop rate changes. I went from getting 1 ex card every 5-10 packs to now over a month of opening the same pack and getting no ex cards and sometimes 3 of the same low tier Pokémon in one pack. Please fix the drop rates and I'll gladly change this rating to 5 stars.

I would provide 5 stars, but unfortunately for a game with trading in the name the trading system is incredibly subpar. The app is clearly geared towards players rather than traders and collectors, which is ignoring half the essence of what pokemon is, and half of their customer base. Large amounts of shine dust are required to trade, emulating having to sell your card to trade it, with high rarity and promo cards locked from allowing trading at all. Very disappointing for a trading game.

One star until they revert the Expert AI difficulty cheating change. It's well documented that the AI has weighted flips to get the ideal outcome 95% of the time (literally, I recorded the outcome of 200 flips, and the AI got heads 189 of them. Several other people have replicated this) which means you essentially cannot play any cards with a coin flip mechanic or you lose automatically. Since this game has some coin flip mechanics in most decks, it is immensely frustrating.

awful balancing , doesnt matter what deck you play you will always lose. Basically whatever you do the matchmaking system will always let the p2w players win ! You'll get nothing off the draw just deadhands meanwhile your opponent will always have the exact cards to beat you , probably bots/p2w players or cheaters. Sleep scam has greatly diminished the play experience of this game. The game allows it, so yeah go ahead and run it in ranked whatever, but having a sleep scam deck in Step Up Battles is just annoying. Turn the game into a no skill coinflip, if it even makes it to that. I used to enjoy this game a lot. Back when I first started playing, not a lot of TCG apps provided good single player modes. But Milotic Ex sleep scam in the single player modes, its just... not fun anymore...

Okay but terrible f2p experience. Building competitive decks is nigh impossible without cash (expect to unlock a fire type one and nothing else), and the ranked ladder even at the bottom tiers is full of people spamming all the newest/overpowered cards. i think pvp is just an unfair play that needs to be balanced especially if you start first you dont have any advantages and your opponent can actively attack you already which gives them a headstart (i had 12 heads in a row to start first which i didnt win once) whats good about the game is opening those packs and the bot event battles even tho the bots are really bots and missplay a lot so they lose which is unfortunate

Seems like this should be an obvious win, but the skill balance is crazy. my daughter just wants to open packs, but gets very overwhelmed because she can't play against anyone without being beaten really quickly. look I love this game you get better cards than you would put of IRL packs but, the battles against real people just seem a little unfair you are timed and sometimes it isn't enough time when you're using certain healing cards. another thing is the wonder picks it's nice because you can get rainbow or full art cards out of them but the chances are 1/5 especially if you want a certain card I feel it would be fair if they would let us get two chances on a wonder pick instead of one.

Collecting cards is fine and fun but battling is garbage. Matches are decided by coin flips, turn order, and draw luck. 20 card deck limit means that mosg matches are about 4 minutes long, if that, and are incredibly boring. Almost every deck uses the exact same 6 cards and then the rest are whatever. Missions suck and arent very fun or creative, just boring and a waste of time. Events are the EXACT SAME loop over and over, and have been for the last YEAR. This game is OK at best. Waste of time.

The game's matching system picks winners and losers. The game's dealing system enforces the selected outcome. The game's card play advancements turn a struggle to an instant loss. If you like collecting to see what you can get? Sure. If you want it faster, spend a lot of money. If you want to spend less, you have to participate in a rigged gaming system which is inherently corrupt and unfair.

This game is highly underrated. I love it. People don't stick to the game long enough to truly appreciate it. They play it for a day, decide they hate it, and give an awful, toxic review. There is no ads, and its simply fun. The only reason it would glitch is if you have bad internet. It isn't a pay to win either. You can pay for stuff, but you can progress the same without it. 11 out of 10. I highly recommend this for anyone, whether its a Pokémon lover or someone who is brand new. Great

If I could give the game less than 1 star I would. The rng in the battle system is infuriatingly bad (rigged in the bot battles, and fair but gamebreaking in pvp), and the drop rates and expected packs to 100% an expansion have gotten progressively worse over time.

As a new player, it's almost impossible to win. I'm currently level 13, but I'm constantly matched against players who are level 50 or 60. The matchmaking feels very unfair and makes the game frustrating instead of enjoyable. Please improve the matchmaking system so beginners can have a fair chance to learn and enjoy the game.

the gane used to be really fun. but once they dropped ranked, they stopped coming out with fun events. if you don’t spend an arm and a leg, you don't get any full art cards. I've stopped putting money in and haven't gotten a single full art in over 200 packs. The company does not care about its consumer because they know they have a cult following that will fund anything they want. some cards look cool though so 2 star instead of 1

Fun, addictive but Frustraiting. Building or strenthening a new deck was hard. The search functionality was really sucks. eg I wanted to build a poison related, or a sweet relay deck, or a deck that requires collorless skill. You need to spent a lot of time to find related card you need. Maybe add 1. Search by skill based on energy type 2. Context type filter, eg. poison, sweet relay, toss coin, dmg inc, dmg dec, ex or mega related 3. Owned / not owned toggle 4. Make keyword search context aware

I would have done 5 stars, but unfortunately my husband and I can't trade our preferred cards with each other as they're usually not the same rarity as the other and the game won't let us even pick a card outside of said rarity and it's frustrating.

The collecting solves an itch if you collected cards for real. however: 1) Drop rates don't feel as they are listed. I've gotten the same 10 cards over and over. 2) I wish if I had too many of a card that I could get card points for "selling" the card to save for other cards. 3) Time waits for packs and dailies are garbage. Edit: It has been a year ... I think. I am still working on getting the cards to one pack. Two are left and am left to suffer on. -.- Its the one with the shiny Charizard.
