I have been an enthusiastic user of both Shredder and Hiarcs for many years - they both rate my Elo around 1800??? and had anticipated giving a five star rating but this version only works offline for a short period of time. If this is a problem for you I have found Chess Pro and Lichess to be better options.

its great honestly, but can u just add some feature like copy paste PGN and also a much better analysis? it's kind of weird to see that this app lost track of the real game board movement as soon as im trying some trial and error when analyzing my game :/, i mean, make the game movement (chess notation) become "recursive-like" (look at lichess for example), and also somehow there's a really short time of freeze (most people wont notice it but I did) when you make a move

They made it stronger when it needed to play weaker. It's crazy strong at 1200. The computer really only makes mistakes when I play basically bullet chess. If I dare to think, it becomes GM shredder. Horrible design. Edit: Jesus, that patch makes it impossible to play against. Sad.

The interface used to be pretty nice, but they changed it- and really ruined it. The settings you choose don't work. like muting the sound. it may have to do with recent android updates. I hope it gets fixed soon.

0 out of 5 stars. very ugly game. the fact that you deserve money for this garbage and then you promote in your description that with an in-app purchase I can have another person play against me on my phone. how could I subject someone else to this garbage. that feature should be included and not an additional cost. Google allow me to give this a zero star.

The first chess engine I have played with when I'm still a teen(online) and Shredder helped me improve my play by practicing with it everyday.And now it's in Android and I'm glad I purchased it.

I like the game but I find the 'TACTICS' mode a bit lacking. In the game mode you cannot move onto an invalid square. In the tactics mode there is a huge, annoying dialog that pops up to tell you. An invalid move should be represented by the target square going red. When the problem has been completed an other huge dialog appears to tell you. This should not cover the board as one wants to review the moves and check the final position to learn what the best moves were.

I'm a new chess player with no knowledge of the game. I am looking for a chess app to teach me how to play. This is the second app I've tried and unfortunately, like the first one I tried, this app does not explain, show, or teach you how to play either. This app gives you tactics to try but tactics are rather useless if you don't know how to play chess. I will keep searching for an actual beginner friendly chess app.
